Kingsway Cavaliers - AKC Eukanuba National Championship Invitee, 2005-2008
How Kingsway Began
After losing a much loved Dachshund in Aug. 2001 I was heart broken. I have grown up with dogs. Dachshunds, Chihuahuas and Sheperds over the years. My heart longed for that companionship and soon I was looking for the perfect breed for me. I wanted a dog I could train in Obediance.

Shelby my first Cavalier was Blenhiem in color and 7 months old. We started puppy classes right away. She loved her training classes & graduated at the top of her class proving just how smart a CKCS can be.  Purchased as a companion/show prospect, showing in Conformation was to come first, per her breeder, so we were off to a dog show.

I had never shown a dog before and was terrified.  Her breeder as well as other kind Cavalier people, encouraged me.  Afraid I would fall and nearly sick with fear, I somehow found the courage and in we went.  She enjoyed the ring and won her class her first day out!  I will never forget that day.  I spent a year showing her, to her Championship.  She often took BOS, over Specials in the ring.

What a pleasant surprize to find out that my first Cavalier had placed in the Top Ten Bitches in the USA 2003 (owner handled) and was being honored by the Cavaliers Of Puget Sound, at their 2004 Specialty Show!
She can be seen on the Queens page and that is just what she is here, the Queen!

It was about a year after getting Shelby that it occurred to me where I had seen my first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. My daughter had Scoliosis surgery in 1998. While there, she was cheered one day by a therapy dog named Hudson. He brought such a ray of sunshine into Katie's pain filled day! I went back and viewed the video tape from Hudsons visit. Yes, Hudson was a Tri colored Cavalier King Charles Spaniel!

How ironic, as my daughter had told me that day, if anything ever happened to Cassie, she wanted a dog like Hudson!  It was purely coincidental, that was the breed I chose.  It also explains why the tri was my favorite color.  Yet, I was to own the other three colors first.  It seamed everyone wanted a nice tri girl.   Proving that good things come to those who wait, I finally obtained a tri girl from my first litter, Kingsways Enduring Faith.  Faith is an Olivia daughter & was to become my first Bred By Exhibitor Champion!

I fell in love with this breed & enjoy showing in conformation. I have been blessed with three nice foundation bitches, Shelby, Olivia & Dakota.  Shelby and Olivia have both given me champions.  Dakota's daughter Abigail is maturing nicely as well!  It is very exciting to see a puppy you bred & picked from the litter, go into the ring and gain their Championship owner handled.  It could not have been possible if not for many different individuals, please see my
"Special Thanks" page.
In The Future

My original desire five years ago was to do Obediance/therapy work.  Though I will continue to breed and show, I also want to pursue training two of my dogs.  A friends mom was in the hospital here in Atlanta, I was ask to bring Faith to cheer her.  I jumped at the chance!  Faith did well that day and brought a twinkle back into her mothers eyes.  She quickly took a turn for the better!

I remember as a child going with my family to visit at the nursing home.  The joy it brought to the people has stayed with me to this day.  Check back in the future, I know we will be adding a therapy page with photos!  I have several companion/pet puppies who are training for Therapy work as well!

I believe that God has blessed me with these little dogs for a reason, they are the closest thing to His unconditional love that can be found on earth, I want to share that with others!
