Bailey is a Shelby daughter. It is true the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Much like her mother she tackles everything with gusto. No fear, life is to be enjoyed to the fullest, was and is her motto!
Bailey went to her first show 13 hours away in Maumee Ohio. Not wanting to be embarrassed if she wouldn't walk around the ring I entered her in the 6-9 month puppy class instead of BBE. This Shelby daughter walked into the ring her very first time and made it her own! She took Winners Bitch, Best of Winners (over her Father who finished his Championship that day...go dad), and Best Puppy in Breed for a three point major! Move over dad, Bailey is on her way!
Floating on a cloud as we exited the ring, I was brought back to earth when someone told me, "Congratulations but you just lost your chance of a Bred By Medallion". Awarded by AKC when your dog finishes its Championship with all points from the Bred By Class. It was a mistake I will not make again. I should have known that Bailey would do as she did, that is how she has tackled everything in her life.
If she could have chosen her name it would have been Kingsway's It's all About Me don't cha know! She is definitely her mother’s daughter and my Crown Jewel! My favorite thing about her is her ATTITUDE, like the way she stomps her front feet at me and scratches off with her rear feet! She does this to get me to play with her, it always brings a smile to my face, and usually gets her what she wants, who could resist? Like her mother she does not always behave in the show ring. She does get lots of smiles however! She has a great temperment & takes everything in stride.
Bailey has taken the rest of her points from the BBE class. She made the cut from the BBE Class at the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel National Specialty show At Callaway Gardens 2006, winning me a coveted (I made the cut T. shirt) with entries over 500 what an honor! She then placed second from the BBE Class at our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Regional Specialty show. Again, an honor with such huge competition!
